Outstanding leaders, outstanding schools
Outstanding schools emerge when outstanding leadership teams refuse to settle for the status quo. Despite the education crisis facing our nation, they have a vision to provide excellent education and commit to achieving this in some of our toughest communities.
In our public schools there is a deep cry for support and leadership development from those who have been promoted into management positions with no prior leadership training or experience. Common Good is committed to the professional development of teachers and leaders in our growing network of schools. We have collaborated with Acorn Education to design and implement a School Leadership Development Programme (SDLP).
The programme was launched in July 2019 with residential training for 25 leaders from five local schools. This is the start of a multi-year journey that seeks to strengthen school leaders’ ability to lead themselves, work in team, and lead and manage their staff well.
